Our Vision
With the support of local communities, we want to create a space where people from all over the world can come and see the rich history of colored schools in Oviedo and the surrounding areas.
We want to include the citizens of our local communities so that they can be engaged in helping preserve our history. We welcome contributions of artifacts and documents, donations, and any kind of volunteer support as we raise money and prepare to open the physical museum.
We are progressing towards our goal of renovating the St. James A. M. E. Church/Gabriella Colored School but we need your help. We need to raise funds to save/restore this historic building. As the Summer of 2021 heats up, we hope to rush quickly towards our goal of raising funds to complete the restoration of the site.
